Research Links

The NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) supports patients, the public and health and care organisations across England to participate in high-quality research, thereby advancing knowledge and improving care. The CRN is comprised of 15 Local Clinical Research Networks and 30 Specialties who coordinate and support the delivery of high-quality research both by geography and therapy area. National leadership and coordination is provided through the CRN Coordinating Centre.

The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists has produced a series of web pages specifically focusing on Dysphagia. Council for Allied Health Professions Research (CAHPR) aims to enhance research outputs across the Allied Health Professions and facilitate translation of research findings into education and practice.
There is a UK-wide network of 23 Hubs that provide support for clinical AHPs to gain skills and confidence in engaging with collaborative clinically-based research.
The Hubs offer bespoke research advice and support which includes:

  • Grant and fellowship applications
  • Enhancing research collaborations
  • Writing for publication
  • Disseminating research outcomes
  • Mentorship and 1:1 support
